Children must be within the income guidelines and meet other requirements for this all day four-year-old Pre-K program at an LPPS school at no tuition cost to eligible families.
Type III Child Care Centers participate in the Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) which assist low-income families with the cost of child care.
Head Start is a federally funded program for preschool children ages 3 to 5 from low-income families. The Regina Coeli Child Development Center, a non-profit organization, manages both centers in Livingston Parish. One center is located in Walker and the other is located in Springfield. Services are at no cost to eligible families.
The Springfield Head Start location offers Early Head Start classes for infants and toddlers under the age of 3.
Parents wishing to apply to one of our Type III child care centers or Head Start centers can print our common application and email it to:
earlychildhood@lpsb.org. Our office will get it to the appropriate center.
